Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Aaron Peskin Initiate Plan to Fully Electrify Ground Transportation in San Francisco

San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Aaron Peskin unveiled a roadmap to achieve 100% emission-free transportation in the city by 2040. As part of the roadmap, Mayor Breed and Supervisor Peskin announced an initiative to increase publicly available EV charging stations in up to 38 City-owned parking facilities and introduced legislation to increase publicly available EV charging stations in privately-owned commercial parking facilities. Nation’s First Hydrogen Fuel Cell Ferry to Transport Commuters Across San Francisco Bay in Early 2020

The San Francisco Bay ferry operator, Red and White Fleet, will begin operating the nation’s first zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell ferry in early 2020. The vessel, called the Water-Go-Round, was designed by Golden Gate Zero Emission Marine after securing a $3 million grant from the California Air Resources Board. The ferry is being built with help from Alameda’s Bay Ship & Yacht Co. Additional reading about the zero-emission ferry can be found here.

These workshops presented by the SF Department of the Environment and 350 SF offer all the information you need to know to shop for, purchase/lease, and own an electric car – including how to charge it. Discussions will cover how to determine which car works best for you, which local, state, and federal financial incentives are available, and how much you can save by powering your car with electricity rather than gasoline.
